The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has been advocating the construction of “Green Deck” over the Hung Hom Harbor Tunnel Toll Plaza to deal with various environmental and social problems in the vicinity – poor air quality, overloaded footbridge, poor connectivity and the lack of open space.

The proposed Green Deck connecting to PolyU pedestrian podium on the west and to Hung Hom Station podium on the east will create a new platform for pedestrian above ground in a landscaped park of about 43,000 m2. It is not only effective in improving air quality, and will also bring huge long-term benefits to the community: increased open space, improved connectivity and enhanced accessibility to the waterfront.

To know more about this innovative idea, you are cordially invited to attend the seminar given by Mr Alex Lui.

Mr Lui is a Member of Hong Kong Polytechnic University Council and Chairman of Task Force on the Proposed “Green Deck”. He is an architect and city planner that has worked in Hong Kong for most of his professional life.
